In Search of My True Self

Social media self: 

• Holds lots of babies (no, Michelle, I don’t steal them)
• Bakes desserts in natural light 
• Does interesting and diverse activities 

Work self: 

• Organized
• Uses "phone voice" when talking to adults
• Counts down until it's time for another snack

Church self: 

• The higher the heels, the closer to heaven
• Spanx
• Not paying attention well enough to comment in lessons

Date self: 

• Laughs politely
• Worries about food stuck in my teeth
• Probably talking about disarticulated feet washing up on the shores of British Columbia

Travel self: 

• Has too many things in zip-lock bags
• Sunburned
• Wearing shoes inappropriate for the weather

Home self: 

• Bowl of broccoli + 11 Oreos for dinner  
• Hair in a bun, legs in stretchy pants
• Dances without inhibition
